The Rise of Streaming Services: What’s Next for Entertainment?

When it came to the creative process, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck proved to be an unstoppable team, as revealed by William Goldenberg.

The director of Unstoppable opened up about the pair’s collaboration during the production of their latest sports drama. In an exclusive interview with E! News’ Francesca Amiker, Goldenberg emphasized that Lopez and Affleck maintained a high level of professionalism throughout filming.

It was always about focusing on the film,” Goldenberg shared at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Unstoppable on September 6. “Their personal matters were kept separate from the project. We remained focused on the movie and kept our eyes on the goal.

Unstoppable, starring Lopez and Jharrel Jerome, is adapted from Anthony Robles’ 2012 memoir about the champion wrestler born with one leg. The film is produced by Affleck and his longtime partner Matt Damon.

Ultimately, Unstoppable marked one of the final projects for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez before their separation. The former couple, who ended their two-year marriage in August with Lopez filing for divorce, did not have a shared presence at the film’s events.

Having previously collaborated with Affleck and Damon on Air, Goldenberg was comfortable working with them again.

They were incredibly supportive and stayed out of my way,” Goldenberg said. “They were behind me all the way, offering their support without interfering. Their professionalism and storytelling skills were remarkable.

Affleck chose to miss the Toronto International Film Festival premiere, opting instead to stay in Los Angeles to continue his work and spend time with his children—Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12—from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner. E! News confirmed his absence.

Despite Affleck’s absence, Lopez and Matt Damon were present to celebrate the film’s launch. Lopez made a stunning appearance on the red carpet in a metallic Tamara Ralph gown with striking cutouts. Damon, dressed in a classic gray suit, was joined by his wife, Luciana Damon.
