Romain Bardet est prêt à partir sans regrets

Romain Bardet s’apprête à prendre sa retraite de cycliste professionnel dans les prochaines semaines.

Engagé sur le Tour des Alpes après une longue période d’indisponibilité, Romain Bardet a accordé une longue interview à la ‘Chaine l’Equipe’ à quelques semaines de la fin de sa carrière. Il s’est exprimé sur sa carrière et il aborde avec sérénité la fin de sa carrière. « Ça approche, on me le rappelle en permanence, raconte-t-il. Mais ce n’est pas quelque chose qui m’affecte… Je partirai sans amertume ni nostalgie. J’en ai bien profité, j’ai pu exploiter l’essentiel de mes capacités. »

Il participera à son dernier Grand Tour lors du prochain Giro (du 9 mai au 1er juin). Une course qu’il apprécie, mais sur laquelle il n’a jamais vraiment brillé. « Le Giro, c’est le seul grand tour où j’aurais aimé faire mieux. Ce sont les jambes qui décideront de la manière dont cela va se passer.«
